A big part of ABC6Hurricane.com is learning lessons from past storms. It has been almost a generation since the last hurricane (Bob in 1991) struck our coast.

In order to avoid complacency, it is important that people new to the area, and those who were not born or very young when the last storm hit, see some of the damage that these massive storms can bring to Southern New England.

Please use the form below to upload small (800 pixels wide) jpg images and send them to us. Include a description of when and where the pictures were taken. You can upload four pictures with each submission. Please be patient and only hit “Send” one time. If you have more pictures, you can either use the form again, or put them on a disc and mail them to:

These great photos come from Joseph Pimental of Warren, RI. All the photos were taken in Bristol, RI on August 31, 1954 – the day that Hurricane Carol roared through Southern New England. You may recognize some familiar spots including the town common and area around State and Thames Street – home to many pubs in Bristol.
